What is uneven skin texture & tone?

Before we dive into the Resurfacing Skin Care range, let’s cover what uneven skin texture / tone is and whether this kit will help you address your skin concerns.

Uneven Skin Texture:

These are the bumps, flakes and rough patches on your skin that are easy to feel and can make it appear dull and uneven. Worsening when you apply makeup as the texture is amplified by cakey foundation. This might be caused by the buildup of dead and keratinised skin cells, a slowing down of skin renewal, too much environmental exposure or the overuse of drying skincare. Skin might also feel congested and lumpy.

Uneven Skin Tone:

The colour of your skin is your tone, which deals with the pigmentation of your skin. It may be darker in some areas than others thanks to scars from acne or damage, or the uneven tone might be caused by the sun.

Best skincare for soft, smooth skin texture

Exfoliation is the holy grail of dealing with textured skin, but too much exfoliation is never a good thing and can make matters even worse. Mild exfoliation balanced with hydrating, skin-protecting and brightening ingredients can help give skin a smoother, more radiant appearance by removing dead skin cells on the surface and nourishing the skin underneath allowing light to reflect from the skin.

All about the Resurfacing Kit

The Resurfacing Kit is a full routine targeted towards soft, smooth, clarified skin. With stand-out ingredients of Glycolic Acid and Vitamin C to gently exfoliate, hydrate and brighten. The routine helps achieve a smoother complexion and helps reduce the appearance of existing pigmentation and an uneven skin surface.

How the Resurfacing Kit exfoliates:

with AHAs, BHAs and PHAs e.g. Glycolic Acid

Glycolic is an effective AHA chemical exfoliant to smooth uneven texture, battle the look of dark spots and even help firm and prevent wrinkles. Salicylic Acid (BHA) and PHAs of Lactobionic acid and Gluconolactone also gently exfoliate, hydrate and unclog pores.

How the Resurfacing Kit hydrates:

Niacinamide, Vitamin E and non-comedogenic plant-derived oils (found in the Vitamin C Oil) such as Jojoba, Rose Hip, Chia Seed and Grape Seed with added Hyaluronic Acid, Boswellia Extract and Allantoin all help ensure the skin barrier is functioning effectively and the skin is adequately hydrated.

How the Resurfacing Kit brightens:

Vitamin C has anti-aging benefits and helps repair existing skin damage, helping you achieve a brighter and smoother appearance. It also helps rebuild your skin’s structure by stimulating collagen production.

Licorice Root Extract inhibits the production of an enzyme needed to produce melanin (pigment) in the skin, helps remove excess melanin, and also has anti-inflammatory benefits.

The Resurfacing Kit Routine

Here is our suggested routine to use this skincare kit:

Step 1. Cleanse
Step 2. Exfoliate (daily / weekly)
Step 3. Lightweight Oil
Step 4. Eye Cream
Step 5. Moisturiser

Step 1. Cleanse

The face wash in both the gentle and active versions of the Resurfacing Kit contains Glycolic Acid and Vitamin C to refine skin texture whilst cleansing skin thoroughly. The Gentle Resurfacing Kit comes with a Cream Cleanser while the Active Resurfacing Kit comes with a Wash Gel. Both face washes leave the skin feeling clean and refreshed without that tight, dry feeling.

Step 2. Exfoliate

Exfoliating your face is a super important step for achieving and maintaining optimal skin texture and preventing unevenness by removing dull, rough skin cells.

Gentle Daily Exfoliation

Either spray the Resurfacing Toning Mist gently over the face, ensuring eyes are closed. Or apply to a makeup pad and gently wipe across the skin. Starting with a gentle exfoliating and toning solution and using it a few times a week will ensure that your skin’s texture smoothes out over time.

Weekly Exfoliating Treatment

The Resurfacing MicroDermabrasion Scrub is a dual exfoliator, meaning it exfoliates the skin using physical scrub particles (the same used in a microdermabrasion machine) as well as with glycolic acid. The two powers combined complement each other to leave you with the softest, most radiant skin.

Use as a weekly treatment until the skin easily tolerates this exfoliator, then you can dial up the frequency to your liking.

Step 3. Lightweight Oil

Apply the Vitamin C Potent Antioxidant Oil and allow to sink in. A light-yet-luxe face oil that contains 30% Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (Vitamin C derivative), Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E to keep skin juicy, bright and hydrated, and Boswellia Extract to calm and soothe skin. It’s oil-soluble, which means it penetrates skin faster than any other form of Vitamin C out there, is more easily absorbed and therefore more product reaches where it needs to go.

Step 4. Eye Cream

A high performance eye cream to improve the appearance of skin around the eye area. Helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines around the eye by refining skin texture. With emollients to restore skin softness and prevent skin dehydration. Dab around eye area

Step 5. Moisturiser

The Resurfacing Moisture Cream contains a gentle blend of AHAs, BHAs and PHAs plus Vitamin C and Niacinamide. As it refines skin’s surface, it also adds hydration and nourishment. Not only is the skin immediately softer and smoother, but with long term use it helps to reduce dark spots, prevent blemishes and improve the look of fine lines and wrinkles.

The Gentle Kit comes with a low-strength moisture cream while the Active Kit comes with a higher-strength cream.

What is the difference between the Active and the Gentle Kit?

The Resurfacing Skincare Kit comes in 2 strengths:

Gentle (also known as Stage 1) - for introducing your skin to chemical exfoliants such as Glycolic Acid

Active (also known as Stage 2) - if you have used and can tolerate Glycolic Acid

Both kits contain 6 skincare products however the only difference occurs in the Cleanser and the Moisture Cream. The Gentle Kit contains a cream-based cleanser and a low-strength moisture cream, while the Active Kit contains a gel-based face wash and a higher-strength moisture cream.

The Final Word on How to improve Skin Texture & Tone

Sun protection! Don’t forget to always apply your SPF50+ as the last step in your skin care routine. Especially when wanting to reduce skin texture and tone as this will help limit part of the cause of this skin concern. Not to mention many other skin concerns and general skin health.
